Exporting an Existing Profile

BizMetry lets you export a profile's full configuration as a JSON definition file. Exporting is useful for creating backups before a destructive change, sharing a working configuration with another team, or migrating a profile's setup between organizations.

How to Export a Profile

  1. Navigate to the Home screen and locate the profile tile you want to export.
  2. Click the ellipsis menu (⋮) at the bottom-right corner of the profile tile.
  3. Select Export from the contextual menu.
  4. BizMetry generates a JSON file containing the profile's configuration and downloads it to your device.

Tip

Exporting a profile is the recommended way to back up its configuration before deleting it or making significant structural changes. See Deleting an Existing Profile for more on when a backup is especially important.

What's Included in the Export

The exported JSON definition captures the profile's structural configuration — its associated telemetry template, business domains, resource and client type definitions, and environment mappings. It does not include historical telemetry data or captured metrics, which live independently of the profile's configuration.
