User and Roles ManagementΒΆ

The Users and Roles section allows account administrators to manage access control within their BizMetry account β€” inviting users, assigning roles, and controlling what each user can view and do within the platform.

BizMetry uses a Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) model to define permissions at the account, profile, and operational level.


🧭 Accessing User Management¢

  1. Click on the Main Menu icon (☰) from the top navigation bar.
  2. Select "Users & Roles" from the menu.

Administrator Access Required

This section is only available to users with the Organization Manager or Organization Owner account type.

πŸ‘₯ User List ViewΒΆ

The Users panel displays all users associated with your account:

Column Description
Name Full name of the user.
Email Login identifier and contact address.
Role Assigned role within the account.
Status Active, Pending Activation, or Disabled.
Last Login Timestamp of the user's most recent session.
Actions Edit role, disable, or remove the user.

βž• Inviting a New UserΒΆ

  1. Click "+ Invite User" from the toolbar.
  2. Enter the user's email address.
  3. Select their Role (see roles below).
  4. Click "Send Invitation".

The user will receive an activation email. Once they complete registration, their account will become active within your organization.

🎭 BizMetry Roles¢

Role Description
Organization Owner Full platform control. Can manage all users, profiles, templates, and billing.
Organization Manager Can invite and manage users, configure profiles and templates. Cannot access billing.
Architect Can design and manage Templates and Profile configurations. Cannot manage users.
Developer Can configure agents, datasources, and instrumentation. Read-only on templates.
DevOps Can deploy, restart, and monitor agents. Cannot edit templates or profiles.
SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) Can monitor SLAs, view logs, and manage agent operations.
Telemetry Operator Read-only access to monitoring dashboards and telemetry data.
Business Administrator Access to analytics dashboards and KPI reports. No platform configuration.
Monitoring User View-only access to agent status and system-level dashboards.
Quality Assurance Access to QA environments and telemetry validation flows.

✏️ Editing a User's Role¢

  1. Click the Edit icon on the user's row.
  2. Update the Role dropdown.
  3. Click "Save Changes".

Role changes take effect on the user's next page load or login.


🚫 Disabling or Removing a User¢

  • Disable β€” temporarily revokes platform access without removing the user record. Useful for offboarding or temporary suspension.
  • Remove β€” permanently deletes the user from the account. Any resources or configurations created by the user remain unaffected.

Last Owner Warning

You cannot remove or disable the last Organization Owner of an account. Assign another user as Owner first.
